Stadovas 5mg
Composition: Amlodipine
Indications:
Hypertension
Chronic stable angina
Angina due to vasospasm (Prinzmetal’s angina)
Population: Oral use.
Dosage:
Adults:
For hypertension and angina: The usual initial dose is 5 mg of amlodipine once daily, which can be increased to a maximum dose of 10 mg once daily depending on the patient’s response.
Elderly:
The tolerance of elderly patients is similar to that of younger patients when using the same dose of amlodipine. The usual recommended dose is used for elderly patients, and caution should be exercised when increasing the dose.
Children and adolescents:
Children and adolescents aged 6 - 17 years with hypertension: The recommended initial antihypertensive oral dose is 2.5 mg once daily, which can be increased to 5 mg once daily if the desired blood pressure is not achieved after 4 weeks. Doses higher than 5 mg once daily have not been studied in pediatric patients.
The 2.5 mg dose of amlodipine cannot be achieved with this formulation; it is recommended to use amlodipine 5 mg tablets instead. Amlodipine 5 mg tablets can be split to provide a 2.5 mg dose.

Hypersensitivity to dihydropyridine derivatives, amlodipine, or any component of the medication.
